The CNP 2021 Gran Final Madrid is coming up at the end of this month and their 2022 Poker tour in Spain is already looking great.

'Third party country', 'high risk' and 'very high risk' is the classification of countries by the Spanish central government.
With the new COVID-19 situation, the Spanish government has decided to extend the entry ban on non-essential trips imposed on the majority of third countries residents until late January.
This week, the CNP Madrid Gran Final partner, Hotel Pax, sold out but the organisation snap-found a deal with another place nearby.
I am planning to enter Spain soon in the middle of the latest Covid wave that visits Europe for the holiday. Entering Spain as such does not seem too tricky for now depending on where you are coming from.
I must admit, I am pretty speechless about what is happening again in Europe in terms of complications when it comes to travel restrictions, curfews and lockdowns. After spending the last 2 months in the U.S. , I had almost forgotten what the European Covid circus was about. One spot on the old continent seems to be ok though: the weather is nice, restrictions don't seem to be too bad and Poker promoters are still holding on their plans for now. How about spending the winter weeks in Spain?
I am leaving Madrid tomorrow morning on a flight to Brussels where I will stay less than 12 hours before moving on to the Czech Republic.
I am still enjoying the Casino Gran Via Poker action together with Alex Rotenberg these days. The Golden Poker festival is still in full swing and I am really stoked to meet again with people from all over Europe. We are shooting a lot of photography these days and we're compiling our favourite shots in a common album. Find the Madrid Flickr archive just below and you might also visit THE-ROUNDER.net Facebook page.
There's more coming since the festival will be on for another full 2 days. You will also find plenty of updates and shares in INSTAGRAM stories and TWITTER.
Buenos dias and greetings from Madrid! Today is already the 4th day of the Golden Poker comeback to Casino Gran Via! Last night was a busy Wednesday with more than 200 entries in 1B the Main Event after 137 entries in Day 1A. Poker Red is providing the official coverage of the festival (links below) with photo and video illustrations by David Piriz.
I am here for the cash games basically ... ;) but I am also super pleased to spend some time with Alex 'Brutally Honest' Rotenberg who is teaming up with me this week to provide images and updates here on THE-ROUNDER.NET.
The Madrid Golden Poker Championship starts today for a full week of Poker in the heart of the Spanish capital.
I will be in Madrid from Wednesday. Check out the full schedule below and see you there!!
With already more than 1000 entries in the Main Event, the Golden Poker Championship is starting to sell out. Yesterday, the management announced a few modifications in the schedule with a new opening event and two extra Main Event Day 1s in an attempt to dilute the incoming flow of reservations.
The Melia Innside hotel is also sold out for now but NH still has a few rooms close by. Get busy now through the POKER TRIPS section if you're still intending to join the gathering in Madrid next week!
The SPF train is stopping in Madrid at Casino Gran Via in late November for one week. The official schedule has just been released on Twitter!
The initial plans was to spend 2-3 months straight in Portugal during autumn but then ... life ... :) Plans would be half the thrill if they would not change, so here we go. I'm flying to Luxembourg for a quick pit stop before taking another trip to Madrid for the GOLDEN POKER CHAMPIONSHIP : to grind the juicy cash games, maybe play some tournament Poker (Damian, please don't!), meet los amigos and to ...
... SHOOT SOME POKER PHOTOGRAPHY !! :D
The Golden Poker Championship Madrid is closing in and there is some good news: the capacity of the event could be increased a bit thanks to the efforts of the Casino Gran Via staff.
It's still a good idea to book your tournament seats online in advance ... âDetails below - see you in Madrid! 9 stops have been announced last December when #spfpoker 2020 was launched. In the meanwhile, we have increased this number to 11 and it might not be over yet ... While we are preparing for the first stop of the year at King's Resort Rozvadov, watch out for new announcements in the POKER TRIPS section and find out about the upcoming stops below.
Get in touch if you need info or assistance to join us somewhere! For this coming new year, you can call me 'El Ambassador' ^^
As a matter of fact, after years of collaboration and of #nuncasuerte , I am very veeeery happy to be officially part of the Spanish Poker Festival crew as an ambassador for the brand. We have lanched a completely new website this weekend under www.spfpoker.com with the announcement of the 11 SPF stops of 2020. There will be 9 cities on the tour map with two stops each in Madrid and in Rozvadov. Also, you will find some new spots on the map like the stop in Vigo for instance. Find out all there is to know about this upcoming #spfpoker year. I can help you find all the info to make your way to the stops in case you are planning to drop by and you will always find the available packages in the POKER TRIPS section of this site. See you on the Spanish roads! The #SPFpoker Main Event is on at Casino Gran Via and you can follow the full coverage on Poker Red!
My favourite thing about Poker by far is the cultural mix overdose I get again and again! After a micro stop in Estoril, Lisbon last weekend, I made my way to southern Spain for the Sevilla Poker Open just before the Spanish Poker Festival National Finals in Madrid starting this weekend!
SEVILLA POKER OPEN info can be found all across the social media landscape: My photos of my Seville stay are online in the photo section of this website. New image, new brand colors, new website, new buy-in for the Main Events [€250], new stops, better social media stuff, live coverages ... The SPANISH POKER FESTIVAL is still going strong. Every national stops features a guarantee of €25.000 except for the Madrid finals that are coming up in mid-December with a €50.000 guarantee!!
The festival promo usually comes with hotel packages and free airport shuttles for the Rozvadov legs in Czech Republic. Find out more on their fully detailed website! I spent most of my November in Portugal playing cash games at Casino Estoril and enjoying what this awesome country has to offer. Still no tournaments for now but at least 2-3 Poker tables are running every day with blinds starting at NLH 1/3 and some PLO. The Omaha game is the local highrollers' playground but it's PLO4 only so not insane swingy ... I'll be back soon. For sure! But let's have a look at what's coming up for the coming weeks. In the meanwhile, you can have a look at my photo archive on Flickr. WHAT'S NEXT?
It's time to #punishthespanish again!! :D
I left Spa this morning after some photo reporting over the Roller Coaster Festival weekend days and I stayed one extra day to attend the Poker Room of Spa Monday Cash Game Night yesterday. I was able to book a positive session but my highlight of the weekend was my second place finish in the Chill Out event while I was still posting updates and shooting pictures of the final stages of the Main Event final table. Poker an easy game :) I will be back in Spain next week to #punishthespanish because they still deserve it :D
After a stop at CNP Estoril recently, I am now attending the Poker Room Of Spa Roller Coaster Festival in Belgium before leaving to Madrid next Wednesday for the finals of the CNP GRAN FINAL. The festival is already in full swing since the 16th of this month and you can follow the action on their Facebook page or on the Laroush Events page.
To kick-off the new year in an 'all over the place' manner, I found myself hesitating between these two destinations. Minsk, Belarus, for a Cash Game Weekend with furious Eastern chip throwers featuring a Belarus Poker Tour (BPT) stop or Madrid, Spain, for the Levante Poker Challenge including juicy OLE! cash games and not risking to freeze to death if I decide to go for a coffee around the corner.

> Calendar > updates on Facebook More photos on: > Flickr > LIB > Life Is Beautiful --- Yesterday, I drove to chill in Luxembourg trying to take advantage of the coming summer days with old buddies and my brother ...
Yes, I know - stupid idea :) Long story short: I slept at a friend's place, my buddy's wife ended up turning on the heating this morning and it has been raining for most of the day on top of that.
That is why, I will be heading South again soon :) This weekend (9th > 11th June), I will probably be shooting some of my last Poker Belgique photos in Namur before the Monster Tournament in October, so join us for the ongoing Big Slick event that started on monday already with the first Day 1. The results of the first Day 1s are already available on pokerbelgique.be and I will be on the spot this weekend for a proper photo coverage of the finals until sunday night. |
