Thanks to the support of PokerFirma and of Alexandre Rotenberg Photography, I was able to pull off a pretty cool +40 days in Las Vegas during this fall. If you think I went only to enjoy myself, think again :-)
My trip was basically split in two phases: the first one during which I slept very little and spent my time shooting the WSOP for PokerFirma and feeding social media networks with Fabien's Au Coeur de Vegas blog. During those first weeks, I also enjoyed my brother's (and his wife's) presence in Sin City whom I toured a bunch of casinos and went on glorious hikes with.
The second phase of my stay started after the WSOP had ended and almost everybody I knew had left town. I switched to grinder mode and I've been playing significantly more than I've been shooting during the second half of my time in Vegas.
I was happy to meet up with the few local friends I have and I enjoyed some quality time with VlogMyWorld's Sven who hopped over from the Dominican Republic where he happened to spend his autumn but the majority of my time has been dedicated to grinding the Vegas cash game tables ruthlessly.
I have played 232 hours of live NLH & PLO cash games at (mostly) Venetian, Rio, Caesars, Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grant, World Resorts, Red Rock, South Point and entered 2 tournaments resulting in a final table in Event #21 of the Venetian NYE DeepStack Extravaganza, a $200 bounty event in which I finished 5th.
I am now in the middle of debriefing and reviewing all this input while I am planning my next steps in this world run by what seem to be scatterbrain politicians hopelessly disconnected from reality.
I will publish some elements of my reviews over the coming weeks I am hoping for some constructive feedback. The POKER TRIPS section of my site will remain empty for now since I made a gross tabula rasa move in terms of partnerships but we should be back on track with new partners and projects soon.
Check out my PHOTOS & COVERAGE section for a complete album of my 1200 Vegas photos and much more!
Happy holidays to all! Make yourself a gift: stop reading the news.
