For those who are following my Facebook page, you might have noticed that I have started to share some posts of a page called 11F Sport. Yes, some people say that Poker is a sport :) I will do a bunch of test publications over the coming weeks to test the audience's response. The posts will all be in Luxembourgish. I am promoting those posts with the hashtag #letzpoker and a Luxembourg player won the SCOOP 2020 High Roller event a few days ago, which obviously made one of my first posts an easy success :p Thanks zazano and congrats again! Also, I am in the process of kicking off an online challenge for the summer. With all my film and photo gigs going down the drain for the rest of the year 2020 and all live games I was planning to attend over the SPF and Al-Andalus seasons being on the brink of cancellation until early 2021, I am still trying to operate a transition from live PLO cash games and photo reporting to full online grinding mode. I have played online on the side only over the years. Changing territories continuously made it a genuine pain in the neck to keep track where I was allowed to play or not and, honestly, the live games were so much softer anyways!
During 7 weeks in March & April, I have planted veggies with my granny in her garden so she didn't have to spend the entire lockdown period all by herself at 86. My learning curve has been pretty steep and I am looking forward to the value I will extract from all those basil, tomato, celery and pepper plants :p At the same time, I have also read everything that I could get my hands one in terms of PLO and I have meticulously played and tracked a sample of 40k hands in PLO cash games and, occasionally some PLO MTTs. I did ok in both disciplines, surprisingly well actually so after reviewing my knowledge, I decided to suck up even more of every tiny bit of educated PLO literature and vlogging I would come across and I started a challenge on May 11th. I shall call it the PLOSMLT Challenge :p as in [POT LIMIT OMAHA SAVED MY LIFE ... TWICE]. 'Twice' because I already digged myself out of a similar hole 10 years ago when my flat burnt down. Back in the days, getting seriously into live games helped me generating a substantial revenue besides my other projects. Today, the live games are dead and will probably remain that way for a while so I picked different sites where I was sure to get some PLO cash game action pretty much at every time of the day and night and I started to custom build grinding patterns. 3-5h of playing a day, 1-2h of studying and reviewing, 3-4 tabling max ... nothing too fancy but focused on crushing. Crushing, not winning. It's been nice to win money in online games but a key quote from JNandez87 made me think a lot. He said: The goal is not to beat those guys, you have to absolutely destroy them :) What a philosopher! Well, here we go! Because I had a lot of time to rearrange on my hands and because the COVID-19 circus messed up pretty much all my plans for the coming 6-24 months, I am not sure whether I'll be able to stay without a job so also uncertain whether I will be able to sustain a challenge of high volume and huge financial pressure. What is certain, is that I am going to need a home now that #allineverywhere is not really a thing anymore ... and homes in Luxembourg are high-roller-expensive! That's why I have to stay flexible and I don't know how much time I'll stay here. Still thinking a lot about Portugal but I am also considering moves to Asia or Latin America. There's no way to make such plans for now so, for my challenge, I went for the safe route. After 6-7 weeks of coaching, studying and grinding lockdown routine this spring, I cashed out all my money and I picked 3 different sites with a deposit of 30 $/€ on each in late April 2020. I busted my mini roll on PP pretty quickly. PS was going well although not a lot of rakeback available and the Wina bankroll has skyrocketed thanks to profitable late night cash sessions and 3 top 3 finishes in tournaments. With these funds, I put a more decent but still experimental roll together that I split into two parts cashing out the surplus again, so on May 11th, I started off with this challenge experiment leaving 150$/€ on each site with the goal to triple up globally as quickly as possible still playing only PLO cash and mostly PLO mtts. Once I've reached that stage, I'll do further plans according to what the world will be looking like until then. If the world is still full of Corona brain dead zombies that refuse to attend crowded events but have no problem with spending their Saturday afternoon in packed shopping malls, I will not be able to get back to my former activities and I might continue with the building of this roll but I'd prefer to cash that money out soon and to buy flight tickets with it... Deep inside, I am not aspiring to this clicking as a career and I am looking forward to getting back to traveling, shooting photography and playing live again soon. I think I'll be staying on those sites for now although I am open to other suggestions... Natural8 and ACR are names that have been coming back in discussions pretty often. I am also open to exchanging about the challenge itself in case you have similar plans.
