Time flies! I started to play cards 10 years ago with friends at home. NLHE .05/.10 was the name of the game back but it seemed I was the only one in this group who wanted more. After extensively grinding the Luxembourg home games and the few shabby games in Trier (D), Amnéville (F) and Saarbrücken (D), I started to travel to the Namur (B), Aachen (D), Valkenburg (NL) and Amsterdam (NL) casinos more regularly with regular stops at Paris's ACF #goodolddays ...
So 3 years later, in 2010, I came up with a private Poker agenda for close friends and my brother who I was sharing a lot of Poker knowledge with. For them, it was a simple way to keep track of tournaments and festivals I was interested in. I did not know back then but that was the point when THE-ROUNDERdotnet was born. In 2012, a community of a couple of 100 people was following the agenda and I therefore decided to start posting more detailed updates and photos. The Google agenda had somehow become part of a more global website and I was travelling across Europe living in a camper van and either re-raising or photographing anybody standing in my way :p
I played more and better myself and I also got significantly better at shooting photos over those years resulting in me starting to work with some of the worldwide leading Poker companies and casinos as a freelance photographer, blogger, live commentator, TV table director, camera operator, consultant ... you name it ... travelling around in the wake of numerous international Poker tours.
Today I am looking back at 10 years of Poker travelling, photography and reporting already and for THE-ROUNDERdotnet's 5th anniversary, I've been working a bit on a relooking of the website over the summer. It was raining anyway ... :p #summerinluxembourg #summerinbelgium
I hope you like it.
This is also a very good opportunity to thank everybody who's supporting this project. Viewers, readers, players, partners, THANK YOU!
ON THE ROAD
Before the summer of 2017, the page was animated by 2 blogs: the Poker tournament blog and the general blog. Today, only the former tournament blog remains active featuring all sorts of updates in one place only. Easier for you, easier for us ... :)
