Casino Estoril is back on track with a first live poker event for 2025. The Gladiator Series will be on in early February, the perfect weather switch after the winter poker series I am planning to attend in the Czech Republic and in Austria during January.
I love keep an eye on what is going on in terms of poker in the country I was born in, Luxembourg. When it comes to crushing souls and online or live tournament poker, one name has been coming back over and over again during the last years when I was chatting with my Luxembourg poker buddies and this particular name has accumulated 1.451,23 points as the final score for Luxembourg's National Player of the Year 2024. Sihao Zhang a.k.a Mark completes his second year as best tournament poker player of Luxembourg according to the official 2024 GPI ranking after his first title in 2023. Today, I’ve got a feel-good poker story that’s so full of serendipity, you might just shuffle your way into a better mood. Let’s rewind to early 2008. I had just landed in Las Vegas and was enrolled in poker dealer school. Sounds promising, right? Well, not so much. Somewhere between the chip stacks and all-ins, I realized my math skills might struggle with the lightning-fast calculations required to handle four players going all-in simultaneously. 🤣  Once again, kind wishes of success, health and we hope you find plenty of juicy tables full of drunk whales running bad against you :-) After a winter of shooting photos at events and playing cash games all over Las Vegas, it is about time to move on to cold Europe for a few weeks. The holidays are a great time to spend in Sin City with its mild weather and busy casinos. It is definitely worth a try for those who only know Vegas under a scorching sun. Beside the POKER TRIPS section filling up with events in Europe, we are also slowly starting to get ready for another busy poker summer. The hunt for VEGAS POKER SUMMER HOMES has begun! 
NYE in Las Vegas is quite spectacular but after a month in town, the constant noise and distractions the Strip has to offer, quickly get a bit old. What never gets old to me, is finding a great view point at the edge of the mountains and get a bit higher up to get Strip views during sunrises, sunset or fireworks shows.

The QPS have voluntarily decided to stay behind the main frontline of the poker promoter wars of the Iberian peninsula. First of all, the series describes itself as a low-buy-in option with entry prices of around 200 Eur for the main events and about 400 Eur for the high roller tournaments of the series. It doesn't get friendlier than that in today's poker world.
After an intense season 2024 featuring a great final stop in Estoril shot by Alex in November, the second VPT stop of 2025 has been announced in Bucharest, Romania's capital. The first leg will be played in Milan, Italy.

A pitstop in Luxembourg is almost never about good weather and awesome light but that does not stop photographers from getting out there and trying to capture shots. My colleague, friend and fellow photography lover, Alex Rotenberg came to visit the tiny Grand-Duchy this week and he is leaving aerial photo impressions of his autumn stay behind.
Laughlin, Nevada was founded in the 1960s by Don Laughlin, who saw an opportunity to build a resort town on the Colorado River. Originally a small community, it grew quickly with the construction of casinos, hotels, and other tourist attractions. Its location on the river and its proximity to major cities like Las Vegas and Phoenix helped make Laughlin a popular gaming and leisure destination, attracting visitors with a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the energetic Las Vegas Strip.  Resorts World Las Vegas stands on storied ground with a deep-rooted history on the Las Vegas Strip. Located on the site of the former Stardust Resort and Casino, the epicenter of glamour and gaming during Vegas’s early rise to fame in the 1950s and ‘60s, the property got famous for its outer-space-themed signage and allure, entertaining guests from all over the world from 1958 until 2006 when it was demolished, leaving this valuable Strip location vacant and awaiting a new legacy for a few years. The bitter 2008 pill had to be swallowed first.

The-Rounder.net has been going through a few evolutions since the pandemic. One of them is that the website and the community around it are growing and the whole thing is not managed as a one-monkey show anymore. The team is supposed to reach a count of 5-6 people by early 2025. Visit the CONTACT & INFO section for details about our activities. Portugal-based Alexandre Rotenberg has never been very far from the happenings around The-Rounder.net over the last years, so he was a natural addition to the core of the project over time. We have just used some of his South Africa shots in an article about the Cape Town Million 2024 featuring the Hendonmob Championship in collaboration with Sunbet Poker Tour and there is a lot more coming. Another addition to the team has organically been growing as a trusted community member from Las Vegas since 2023. Michelle Richey offers assistance to traveling players looking for a temporary or permanent place to stay in Las Vegas and will add content to website by sharing experiences and helping with the POKER TRIPS section.
