[ LAS VEGAS ] Shooting the PokerStars NAPT at Resorts World

Resorts World Las Vegas stands on storied ground with a deep-rooted history on the Las Vegas Strip. Located on the site of the former Stardust Resort and Casino, the epicenter of glamour and gaming during Vegas’s early rise to fame in the 1950s and ‘60s, the property got famous for its outer-space-themed signage and allure, entertaining guests from all over the world from 1958 until 2006 when it was demolished, leaving this valuable Strip location vacant and awaiting a new legacy for a few years. The bitter 2008 pill had to be swallowed first.

​The vision for Resorts World took shape when the Genting Group, a Malaysian-based hospitality powerhouse, acquired the site in 2013. The ooriginal plan was to offer a distinctly Asian themed property but construction was re-envisioned several times to match modern tendencies in Las Vegas’s evolving entertainment vibe. The project, faced with multiple delays, finally broke ground in 2015 and opened its doors to the public in 2021, making it the first major resort on the Strip in over a decade and the most expensive building in town with a price tag of way more than USD 4 billion.

What sets Resorts World apart is its blend of high-tech luxury, international flair, and its impressive size. Spanning over 350,000 square meters, the property offers a wide range of world-class amenities, including 3,500 rooms across three distinct top-shelf luxury hotel brands, an expansive 5,000-seat theater, and a 11,000-square-meter casino. Resorts World also boasts innovative tech, like the use of cashless gaming options and a mobile app to streamline guest experiences (and expenses) while the Circus Circus next door still operates some of the last real-coin slots in Vegas. Top dining and shopping experiences, along with a hot nightlife scene and a majestic day club and pool area, make Resorts World a new beacon on the Strip that nods to its historical roots while setting a new standard in Las Vegas luxury. Less is more but not in Vegas.

PokerStars will be back at Resorts World with the NAPT festival in November 2024. The festival features more than 30 events with a buy-in range between USD 250 and USD 25.000.
