THE-ROUNDER.net is a non-commercial collective of poker players, travelers, and media contributors founded by Damiano Nigro. We can fluently communicate in ENGLISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN, and LUXEMBOURGISH besides having basic knowledge in other languages including DUTCH, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE, TAGALOG, or HAWAIIAN. Together, we travel, play cards, we document our journeys, we provide advice for poker-trip projects, and we offer booking support to travel buddies.
Recurrent poker destinations in Europe will be actively promoted in the POKER TRIPS section with new destinations constantly being added.
With pokerturniere.live, an additional database is available for players specifically looking for poker action in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region and around.
TRIPS TO LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas gets a very special bit of attention since the destination is so popular while, at the same time, it is so difficult to navigate for newbies.

LEISURE AND COMFORT
There are a few ways to travel. There is the standard poker trip package cramped with two other hardcore grinders in a triple room eating fast food all week. There are also ways to explore, discover, and enjoy oneself beside the grinding.

A few thoughts from Damian, founder of THE-ROUNDER.net
I spend a lot of time traveling. View a selection of Poker pictures but also all sorts of non-Poker photo reports of projects I am involved in on the PHOTOS & COVERAGES page. Generally speaking, I like to avoid having humans in my wide shots, even when I am taking urban shots. That being said, when I shoot people, I enjoy to report about what they do and how they do it. I love following communities or documenting creative processes.
You can scroll through a listing of articles dedicated to info and thoughts I would like to share in the BLOG section. It is generally Poker-related but not in a classic way. I mix it up by adding content about other topics I am interested in like photography, mindset, art, science, solidarity, or history. There is a link to the former blog section (before summer 2017). These two sections have been merged now with Poker tournament agenda updates and blogging info about other topics I care about.
Also, you can find a list of Poker events I promote as an ambassador for various international brands in the POKER TRIPS section. I mostly promote events I am planning to attend myself but there is also a network of partners who will be happy to assist us on our journeys. THE-ROUNDER.net is supported by various occasional and long-term partners building custom travel package for private individuals or traveling player groups.
The ART & PRINTS section is constantly under construction and deconstruction depending on how much time I have to dedicate to it.
The name of this project obviously reminds everyone of the Poker movie but that's not what inspired me. In Poker, a 'ROUNDER' is a player who is moving around from card game to card game like a nomad. This is basically what I have been doing since roughly 2010 as a photojournalist and Poker player but it is also what I have been doing long before in my life as a former touring musician/producer/event manager. My blog was and still is a lot about Poker since the game is the primary reason why I travel but I gradually added other photo reports to my archive since I come across many different and interesting people, projects and events worth documenting while I am on my way to everywhere.
THE-ROUNDERdotnet is designed responsively and therefore should display correctly on all sorts of devices but still looks best on a good old computer screen if you ask me.
You can find me on Facebook via THIS LINK. A short biography is online just below for those who care and I have talked extensively about me as a photojournalist in 2021 in an interview by Alex 'BrutallyHonest' Rotenberg. Read it HERE.

I also got extensively interviewed by Melvin Schroën as my introduction to THE FESTIVAL SERIES media team in Nottingham during February 2023.
Hi there. I'm Damiano. Thanks for the interest. I was born in Luxembourg and I travel around from Poker event to Poker event in order to play card games or to report about them mainly by shooting photos. I shoot pictures everywhere I travel to and this blog simply serves the purpose of sharing information about Poker events I am attending or planing to attend.
With a scientific and cultural educational background and after a music career as a touring drummer, DJ, producer, publisher and record label manager from the mid 90s to the early 2000s, I ended up taking part to roughly 600 shows and producing more then 1000 underground events in 30 countries. If we would have had hashtags back then, #onstageeverywhere would have been one our favourite ones :-p
I then transitioned to event management, cultural management & consulting, environmental and political activism followed by more corporate private businesses like getting involved in the management of night clubs, bars, and restaurant projects. I also owned a communication agency at some point and I opened a tea room with cultural and social activities... always keeping a camera somewhere close... In 2007, I stumbled across Poker, somehow I got good enough at it to make some small money and keep traveling while working on the go.

Over the years, photography, communication jobs, or project management missions allowed me to have a small but steady revenue besides my Poker monkey swinging and I gathered enough knowledge and experience to start working with some of the worldwide leading Poker companies or casinos as a freelance photographer, blogger, live commentator, TV table director, camera operator, consultant ... you name it. Spending time with the best in the game, I discovered Pot Limit Omaha and gradually moved to PLO cash games as the NLH tables were becoming tougher and tougher.
A bunch of people helped me through my roughest times and so I am trying to give some back by helping people where I can by giving away portions of my winnings during SOLIDARITY challenges and by motivating buddies to join me.
I am fluent in four languages (English, French, German & Luxembourgish), my Italian is more than decent and I have basic knowledge in Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese... aaand I can count from 1 to 1000 in Slovak :-)
I am homeless by choice with a legal base in Luxembourg where I grew up and go back every few weeks for work and business administration stuff besides visiting family and old friends. The rest of the time, I usually work remotely. I occasionally set up bases in places I enjoy particularly or if I need to be in a place for longer. Las Vegas is on that list but also Lisbon in Portugal or Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, are kinda recurrent stops of mine these days while I work remotely on plenty of other stuff I share info about in the BLOG section.
