The first solidarity challenges 2012-2018
In the early days of this website, most of the donation money was gathered via online or live poker challenges during which a portion of the winnings was donated. That way, we have regularly provided financial support to structures and projects involving persons with disabilities. Actions ranged from financial support for local care centers to the active support of some personal development projects like the awesome Wheels & Arms project of Randal & Javier that we supported in Costa Rica back in 2014 & 2015 for instance.
Ukraine
One of our focuses these days, is to continue providing assistance to Ukrainians via the LUkraine association based in Luxembourg that handle rescue mission and emergency evacuation logistics while delivering food and medicine to remote zones. We have been physically present in Ukraine from the second week after thee Russian invasion struggling to organise logistics in the the chaos of war. Theses days, we use our extended international networks to help with social and professional integration programs and by creating opportunities for decent employment and housing solutions.
You can also help us buy, maintain and deliver fire trucks and ambulances to Ukraine by supporting our ambitious international multi-million-Euro 'Ukraine Is Calling' campaign.
The Mediterranean
The Mare*GO has been at sea under the supervision of Zusammenland, a Germany-based NGO, since early 2023. On top of the sometimes rough conditions and emergency situations the crews have to face at sea, there is a storm of constant legal complications, serious political pressure, and crazy logistical challenges while the aim is simply to save lives of refugees in distress situations in the Mediterranean Sea.
