Au début de cette année, j’ai commencé un challenge avec une bankroll de 500€ avec l’objectif de monter le plus de jetons possibles sur Winamax.

It's October! Time to take a look back to my 2016 solidarity challenge.

In the beginning of 2016, I started a challenge with a 500€ bankroll aiming to step up the limits on Winamax.

I initially intended to play during 6 months (January > July) accumulating hands in PLO cash games and testing my skills a.k.a. 'luck' in MTT games. During spring, I decided to leave to travel the U.S. during a bit more than two months from late May to early July, so I elected to add August and September to the schedule in order to complete the 6-month challenge period. In total, a sample of 309 tournaments (mainly 5-20€ MTTs) came together along with 27.807 cash game hands mainly at PLO.05/.1 and PLO.1/.2 tables.

I started with 500€ on 1st January and made it up to 1.060.49€ thanks to a couple of great MTT results and being only almost even in cash games.

Cash game profit: 30.55€
Tournament profit: 529.94€

Unfortunately, I am not able to provide detailed info and graphs for the total period as my computer containing my PokerTracker database got stolen in Las Vegas this summer :/ I still have my Sharkscope graph to illustrate the MTT run.

​My initial idea was to give away 20% of my bankroll at the end of the challenge and, should I go broke or finish below the 500€ mark, I would still donate 20% of the starting bankroll. Having no home and travelling around in different countries almost non-stop, it is not always easy to find the time, the suiting legal local setup and the energy to put in a lot of volume for the grind but at the end of September, my bankroll had reached 1.060.49€, so the total amount donated will be 212,098€. A pretty satisfying result in my opinion.

I will contact the Apemh management shortly to discuss how we can invest this money wisely ... I will keep you posted soon!

Au début de cette année, j’ai commencé un challenge avec une bankroll de 500€ avec l’objectif de monter le plus de jetons possibles sur Winamax.

Initialement, je comptais jouer pendant six moins (janvier > juillet) pour accumuler un maximum de mains en cash game PLO et pour voir si ‘il est là, papa’ en format MTT. Pendant le printemps, les plans ont changé et j’ai décidé de partir aux Etats-Unis de fin mai à début août et j’ai donc décidé d’ajouter les mois d’août et de septembre au challenge afin de compléter la période de six mois prévue depuis le début. Au total, j’ai joué 309 tournois (principalement des MTTs 5-20€) et 27.807 mains de cash game en PLO.05/.1 et PLO.1/.2


J’ai commencé à jouer avec les 500€ le 1er janvier et je suis monté à 1.060,49€ grâce à quelques beaux résultats en MTTs et une courbe de cash game plutôt even.


Bénéfices cash game: 30.55€
Bénéfices tournois: 529.94€


Malheureusement, je ne suis pas à même de fournir des informations détaillées pour la période en question comme j’aurais voulu le faire car la base de donnée de mon Poker Tracker se trouvait sur l’ordinateur qu’on m’a volé cet été à Las Vegas :/ Tout ce que j’ai pour le moment est le graphique Sharkscope pour illustrer mon run en MTTs.

Mon plan initial était de donner 20% de ma bankroll finale et, en cas d’aveu de faillite ou si je devais finir en dessous des 500€ de départ, je m’engageais à donner 20% de ce capital initial. Vivant sans domicile fixe, il n’est pas toujours facile de jouer en ligne compte tenu des lois en vigueur un peu partout et de la fatigue accumulée, mais j’ai réussi à atteindre un résultat final de 1.060,49€ pour un don de 212,098€. J’en suis plutôt satisfait.


Je vais contacter l’administration de l’Apemh sous peu pour discuter de comment investir cet argent de la manière la plus sensée … Je donnerai évidemment des nouvelles ensuite!
