I am back to what is closest to what I can call a home these days: Estoril, Portugal. The plan was to go all-in on surf sessions and hiking/photo trips on the Atlantic coast before I wrecked my ankle on my first day out after 24 days of straight Poker action in Belgium for the WaSOP in Namur and the EPS Spa.
As a consequence, I am out of the surfing and hiking business until October or so and you will find part of my revenge plan below with the Big Estoril this weekend and the Spanish Poker Festival that will be in town in September. > THE-ROUNDERdotnet on Facebook > Damian LIB on Instagram / Twitter If you enjoy Poker photography, there are roughly 800 photos online of my 12-day stay in Spa for the EPS this August. All photos are accessible via the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section of this site or in my Flickr archive.
Below, you can view the hall of fame with 8 winners of the offical EPS Spa events. GG to all the ITM players and see you soon on the circuit. > THE-ROUNDERdotnet on Facebook > Damian LIB on Instagram / Twitter The European Poker Series [EPS] Spa is on since the 8th of August and we have already 4 winners to celebrate after the win of Jérôme Sgorrano last night in the PLO event after a heads-up deal with Robert Auer.
Follow the action live under european-pokerseries.com and find my photos in the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section. We are a few days away from the kickoff of the European Poker Series in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes in Spa and things are slowly getting into good shape to welcome the first visitors from this Wednesday, 8th August.
EPS Spa is getting closer and closer and we are getting more and more excited! Today, we are happy to announce that we will be hosting 3 VIP cash game sessions with a streaming at the Casino de Spa. The dates are the 12th, the 15th and the 19th August and the games will be on from 2pm after a drink offered from 1pm.
The first European Poker series (EPS) is coming to Spa and the EPS delegation will be on the move with a caravan of ambassadors that have been helping to promote the event all around Europe since early 2018.
The World Cup is over and Belgium has almost reached the Football Main Event Final Table this year. So close ... just like we all do in MTTs :p
There are some World Cup champions though in Belgium :D View the WORLD CUP FESTIVAL Hall of Fame via the embeded Instagram posts below and find out about the complete schedule of the WaSOP coming up next week. I will be on the spot with updates and photos under pokernamurevent.be. The WORLD CUP PHOTOS are available by following these links: 26/06 Big Tuesday photos 27/06 Main Event Day 1A photos 28/06 Main Event Day 1B photos 29/06 Main Event Day 1C&D photos 30/06 Main Event Day 2 photos If you like photos, my complete Poker photo archive is online HERE and there are tons of additional photos on my Flickr. Ok, ok ... the title is not the greatest :p But wait, Belgium is a great place to spend the summer months ... when it does not rain. You just have to enjoy those summer minutes you get from time to time to the fullest extend. And the Belgians compensate with the warmth and sunshine from their heart. No? Still not convinced?
Poker! There's Poker. There will be a lot of Poker these weeks in the Wallonian capital! The European Poker Series (EPS) ambassadors are doing a great job promoting the Spa stop from 8th to 19th August on an international scale for two pleasant Poker weekends in the beautiful Belgian Ardennes. EPS, a genuine Poker festival ! The core idea of EPS is not just to offer a single main event with random side events around it over a few days but to establish a genuine festival atmosphere over 12 days of Poker day in day out with no less than 8 events and 15 satellites. Additionally, cash games will be open every day including 3 streamed VIP cash game sessions on the 12th, the 15th and the 19th August from 2pm.
The game will be an 8-max setup with minimum blinds of 10/20 in a NLH format (depending on agreements, players will be free to decide to add games or to raise the blinds over time). There’s is a list of interested participants so if you wish to get on it, we strongly encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible.
It's chill time! Greetings from Portugal where I'm off for two weeks enjoying the heat, playing cards and meeting friends. My brother is coming over with a buddy later this month to spice it all up with some Golf and Surf sessions. Life is beautiful. Repeat three times every morning ;)
Below, you will find a bunch of info about what is going on these weeks at Casino Estoril Poker room followed by a detailed preview of my almost 100% Belgian August 2018: WaSOP Namur, European Poker Series Spa & Holiday Festival Namur with a few days of Portugal in between if I can make it. My Flickr photo archive is up to date with my latest albums of the Namur World Cup Festival and of the Spanish Poker Festival at King's Casino Rozvadov last week. Enjoy!
A bunch of hotel & buy-in packages are available for EPS Spa coming in quickly now. We are just a few weeks away from the beginning of the European Poker Series festival. Waste no time and secure your room at Radisson Blu Palace in front of the casino, just across the road.
The information has spread on the Internet since early 2018: a new international Poker festival is on its way to the Belgian town of Spa. The promoters’ goal is to establish a festival gathering players from all around Europe for a great international Poker meeting in Belgium. Schedules and hotel offers have been carefully prepared in order to give players great playing conditions in pleasant surroundings. Tournament buy-ins and structure variations will allow everybody to find a suitable for their bankroll and agenda. Live qualifiers will be available in the Spa and Namur casinos over the coming weeks to give everybody access to guaranteed prize pools for a low investment.
This first edition of the EPS Festival will take place in the oldest casino in the world, the Casino de Spa in the city of Spa, an area already well-known for its picturesque forest landscapes, its wellness centres and the nearby Spa-Francorchamps race track. After a week in Riga in between days of Portuguese bliss, I will soon be off on a small tour again. Photos of my last Portugal stays and of the Riga Cash Game Weekend are available in the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section or in my Flickr archive.
Next stop: the #pokernamur World Cup Festival ! Back in Belgium next week for another edition of the monthly Namur Poker rendez-vous. Information can be found under www.circuspoker.be but it looks like I will be publishing my coverage again on www.pokernamurevent.be from this festival on. More news soon ... #pokernamur on Facebook HERE. If you are the kind of Poker player who is into +EV moves, here is one that is pretty easy and requires almost no skill or studying :) Until June 30th, EPS Spa is offering Warm Up packages at a special rate. - Warm Up buy-in (€199)
- 2 nights at Radisson Blu Palace from 10th to 12th or from 11th to 13th August >> €509 instead of €597 The standard package includes:
The Spa Casino will be the host of one of my biggest Poker projects during this summer, the European Poker Series in the middle of August for 12 days of Poker surrounded by the pittoresque forests next to the Formula 1 race track in Spa-Francorchamps. But before that, PokerStarsBE will make a stop in Spa with the Spring leg of the Belgian Poker Challenge. You can visit the Casino de Spa Facebook Poker page or their website for more info about this upcoming event.
While my Instagram for sure begins to have a smell of grilled sardines and vegetables, it's time to leave Portugal for a bit of back and forward between Luxembourg, Namur, Cascais, Riga, Rozvadov and Spa over the next weeks.
#allineverywhere
Forget sea, sex & sun! We have Meuse, Poker & sun (maybe) in Namur!
The Poker festivals in Namur are again pretty popular this year with massive low buy-in fields generated in the early year, a great Namur Classic's and, again, more than 600 entries in the Spring Festival's Main Event in late April/early May.
During this May, the Poker action will not slow down with the return of the APAT.be with a Namur leg I will not attend. Their media team will take good care of the coverage of the event under www.apat.be and I will be back in Wallonia for the Sun Festival from 22nd to 27th of May.
What is more, I will also be back for the World Cup Festival and you will most probably see me around in late July/early August for the WaSOP ...
Last Saturday, the #epsSPA community gathered at the Casino de Spa for a promotional night with added value, tournament tickets to win, an info session during the dinner break, cash games and a lot of sunshine :)
The first European Poker Series at Casino de Spa, the oldest casino in the world, has just announced the first hotel packages for their festival from 8th to 19th August 2018. More details on their website.
Something new and looking pretty cool is coming up in Belgium for this summer: the first stop in Spa for the European Poker Series! The new website is ready online since the beginning of March featuring schedules, hotel package information, first photos and video promotion. Stay tuned under www.european-pokerserie.com.
Less than a month to go before the return of the Spanish Poker Festival to Rozvadov with a Winter Edition from 28th January to 4th February but there is also a lot of action already announced in Spain by various Poker promoters.
CNP & LPS have announced most of their 2018 stops already with tournaments all over Iberia and GPS will also be back with Silver Poker Series in January and February before a Golden Poker Series stop at Casino Gran Madrid in March. The promoters of the SPF at King's will also be active on home soil with a bunch of events scheduled for the beginning of the New Year like the Spanish Winter Series in Castellon until 7th January, the Levante Poker Challenge also taking place at Casino Gran Madrid in mid-January before the SPF at King's. Soon after, another event will take place at Casino de Mallorca and another Levante Poker Challenge stop is planned from 23rd to 25th February at the Gran Casino Extremadura. Let's get our credit cards ready to book flights and accommodation :p |
