Another contribution on the go for PokerFirma.com and I have added an English text version below. Photos and info links can be found in the German article.
Sevilla is the spot where I got stuck when the pandemic hit Europe. It's actually one of the cities I love after visiting more than half a dozen times in total but I somehow did not make it back since then. Maybe it's time to break the spell. The first leg of CNP Season 11 will be played in beautiful Seville between 6th and 12th March.
Teaming up with Banco Casino Bratislava came with a cool bonus. I get to fly a lot in and out via the Bratislava and Vienna airports and since I'm often coming from or heading to Spain or Portugal, I get to fly over the greatest mountain range of Europe a lot more often.
This usually results in pretty cool photos! Here some shots of yesterday's flight from Madrid to Vienna on a Lauda Air Airbus A320.
Torrelodones is a municipality located in the northwest of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, about 30 km from the city centre. Due to its location between the 'Sierra de Guadarrama' and the suburbs of the capital, Torrelodones has both an agricultural side and an urban metropolitan aspect with excellent connections to the centre for the seven small towns that make it up.
I'm shooting loads of photos for the Circuito Nacional de Poker Gran Final at the Casino Gran Madrid Torrelodones these days.
Head to the photo section for links to my pics. Live updates are provided by Poker Red. Official photos are taken care of by Gema Cristobal and published on the CNP Flickr. There's also a streaming schedule starting from today. View it on Twitch. While the Spanish Poker Festival [ SPF ] Donosti is under way, only two stops remain on the SPF circuit for 2022: Rozvadov and Madrid.
It's still not likely that I will end up in the Czech Republic these weeks but Madrid is still in the race for my early December agenda planning and there's an opportunity to play the Main Event without rake. The Poker Trips section is up to date. December is still a bit of a blur but I know more or less what I'll be up to during November. Beat the Rake promos and full schedules are online in the POKER TRIPS section.
Coming up: Slovakia - Spain - Austria - Romania ... and the usual last minute randomness :-)
The biggest Poker room of Spain with its capacity of about 70 tables will be back in the spot light soon with the Circuito Nacional de Poker returning for its yearly Grand Final festival. This year, the occasion is super special since the festival is also the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the CNP project and of the 20th anniversary of the creation of one Poker’s biggest brands around: 888poker.
The Spanish Poker Festival tour is on its way to the last stops of the year and the BEAT THE RAKE promo goes on until the last series in Madrid.

In less than one month, we’ll be in Madrid for the CNP Season 10 Gran Final powered by 888poker. Many qualifiers are running on both .es and .com networks of the online Poker site and the event will be one of THE European Poker events of late 2022 since this Madrid festival will be celebrated as 888poker’s 20th anniversary featuring 16 live events and the crowning of the 2022 CNP national champion. Among the existing Iberia Poker tours, SPF is the Spanish tour traveling to most places. No wonder I ended up becoming one of their live circuit ambassadors :-) Their yearly schedule features numerous events in all of Spain, in Portugal and they are running multiple stops in Rozvadov every year. I've posted an update in German with photos for the last stops of the year on PokerFirma. An English version is available below.

Vigo (pronounced ‘BEEGO’ [ˈbiɣo] ), geographically speaking, is located in the northwestern part of the Iberian Peninsula. Politically, it’s a bit more complex. It is located in the autonomous community of Galicia in the province of the city of Pontevedra. Some say it’s in Spain :-) Roughly 300000 people were living here in 2019 making it the most populated city in Galicia although the name is originally derived from the Latin word ‘vicus’ for ‘small village’. It is also the economic hot spot of the region and, as a reference point, hosts the EFCA, the European Union Fisheries Control Agency, headquarters.
The Spanish Poker Festival still have a bunch of events up their sleeve for this year, so get your agenda ready and get set for one or the other mtt in Spain or Rozvadov during the end of 2022 ...
Most of my personal upcoming stops are listed in the POKER TRIPS section and I'll try to throw in another dead bullet or two to support the Spanish Poker community :-p Season 10 of the CNP season is coming to an end after the last Gran Final in January 2022. Back then, we were still all wearing life saving masks on the inside in Spain but it seems we are all safe now :-)
With less than two weeks to go before the start of the CNP Bogota leg, the local preparations have begun.
This first stop in Bogota is only the tip of the iceberg. As a matter of fact, the CNP team have announced plans put together a Latin American live Poker tour: the Circuito Latino de Poker. No life changing heaps of money to overload our luggage but Vigo will be remembered as a pleasant Poker stop all in all. An extensive review is in the making for Casino City Guide and you can already enjoy a large selection of images compiled with the help of Alexandre Rotenberg in the photo archive of this site.
No, it's not a day of grief, except maybe for my SPF Main Event that I busted in the next to last level of Day 1B last night. I just like black and white photography - even when it's sunny and colourful around me :-) Below is a black and white series of the heart of charming Vigo in Spain's Galicia.
All my Vigo photos together with Alexandre Rotenberg's selection are online in this trip's archive.
Alexandre Rotenberg and me are compiling some Vigo photo impressions for you these days. We've added some new pics in the album below!
It's always exciting to be in a place for the first time. I like this feeling of genuine discovery and exploration I get when I travel, especially to new places. It brings me back to a state of mind of innocence and vulnerability I can almost only remember from childhood.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade they say. Life gave me Alex, so I'm not making lemonade - we're moving around and shooting pics :-D I'm spending these days with one of my closest buddies. He is based in the Lisbon area, plays cards and shoots (great) photos. I've shared some of his work already a few times here or on my social media account and we're going to shoot and publish photos together for this trip.
Two more stops are scheduled for the end of the 10th year of the Spanish CNP agenda: Alicante in early September (see tweet below) and the Grand Final in Madrid in November. What's more, there will be another stop in Bogota in October.
Check out the POKER TRIPS section for details. In case I decide not to spent my winter months in Vegas (spoiler alert), maybe we should talk about the Circuito Nacional de Poker November stop in Madrid ...
El gran final dates have been announced! View photos of my 2021 visit HERE. |
