October was packed with plenty of live poker events all over the place. In Las Vegas, where I am spending the beginning of the colder season, the Wynn Autumn Classic festival is coming to an end as the next major event is about to start on the Strip.

In late October and early November, during the Malta Poker Festival, the Portomaso Casino in St. Julian's will host juicy high-stakes cash games in NLH and PLO formats. Interested players can directly get in touch at [email protected].
I am not planning to go to the Malta Poker Festival. Already too many things are going on during October for me to implement this stop on my travel route but I am glad to point out two partner highlights happening during this festival.
Two cool European live poker promoters are cooking something together for early September. For the regs of THE-ROUNDER.net, the VAMOS POKER TOUR and THE FESTIVAL SERIES should be names that ring a bell. If not, there is plenty of info available in the POKER TRIPS section.
The two brands are perfectly aligning two of their events making for a packed 12-day live poker schedule in one of the hottest poker spots in Europe. This is a summary with useful info links to prepare the trip and follow the action during the festivals. I'm going back to Malta. For two festivals over two weeks. I will spend most of the month on the warm Mediterranean island to attend the VAMOS POKER TOUR and THE FESTIVAL SERIES. Head to the POKER TRIPS section for more details and join the ride for 12 full days of non-stop poker, gambling, gaming and hospitality entertainment. But before that, clickers will get their share of clicking with the 70-tournament online leg of THE FESTIVAL ONLINE this August.
St. Julian’s is a seaside town in Malta known for its beautiful beaches and lively atmosphere. Balluta Bay, with its rocky stretch and promenade full of food and beverage options, is a highlight. The streets of Paceville, near St. George’s Bay Beach, are lined with bars and nightclubs. In Spinola Bay, you can admire traditional fishing boats and visit Spinola Palace, a baroque mansion with a distinctive carved clock on its facade. Portomaso Bay boasts a marina, luxury boutiques, and casinos.
The VAMOS POKER TOUR (VPT) teams up with THE FESTIVAL SERIES in September for a combined 2-headed poker festival dragon to slay between 4th and 15th September.
The full schedule has just been released. Stay tuned under the MALTA tag of the blog for updates. THE FESTIVAL SERIES stopped in Rozvadov, Czech Republic for the first time in 2024 (see Franke's interview by Lemon Poker below) and the fun goes on for the rest of the year with scheduled stops in Malta and Bratislava.
Besides, Bratislava, Slovakia and Nottingham, UK, I joined The Festival in Malta in May 2023 and it looks like I'll be heading back to Malta in September 2024.
It's been a great poker party in spring 2023 when The Festival crew disembarked on Malta together with all its production and media partners. In 2024, St. Julian's Portomaso Casino will be one of September's international poker hotspots.

April 2023 is almost history, so it's time to take a look at the games I'll be attending in May. As the peasant's rule goes: A right May is the key to a right year. Let's see if that also applies to poker ...

I have been in touch with Martin von Zweigbergk aka "Franke" for years and we regularly exchange about poker topics, but our only physical meeting was in Berlin during the WSOP Europe stop. Almost 10 years have passed since then and we have chosen Nottingham for a reunion. I had missed the Autumn 2022 stop of the festival in Bratislava as it coincided with my trip to Colombia, but we agreed that a reunion at Dusk Till Dawn should be a sure thing.
