After an intense year of successful poker festivals in the renovated poker room of Namur, the poker staff of the Circus Resort showed up with a huge event to crown the year 2023.

Namur is my last stop in Europe before concluding 2023 in Las Vegas from December to January. In the meanwhile, I am shooting every day in Namur for the Circus Resort and PokerFirma.com. An archive is online with more than 300 shots for the first week and there is a lot more to come.  Historically, the Namur Winter Festival has always been one of the highlights of the poker year. It has been one of the first events of the room to feature a main event with more than 1k entries and it has reached more than 2.5k entries in 2023. The Winter Festival will be the first major poker gathering in Namur for 2024 
Since early 2023 after the completion of the renovations of the historic casino, I have resumed adding Namur to my personal poker circuit. Multiple posts have been added to the BLOG and the POKER TRIPS section over the last months and all is archived under the NAMUR tag.

Hello and welcome to our November 2023 POKER RADAR CHECK. This is an English version of information we promote in German on POKERFIRMA.COM. We also recently started testing releases of our POKER RADAR CHECK recaps as videos on YouTube. The editorial contribution should remain monthly interventions. Regarding videos, we might increase the frequency depending on demand. Feedback is welcome if someone wants to help us do things better.
We hope you have seamlessly transitioned into the fall season and that you are all enjoying the occasionally temperamental weather out there. The weather is cooling down where the poker action however continues to heat up as we head into the winter weeks. 
The Namur casino has been given a serious facelift over the last two years and is now known as the Circus Casino Resort, one of Europe's relevant poker spots featuring a 4-star hotel with fitness and wellness offers on the shores of the Maas river. After a successful series of 2023 events, the crown event of the year is coming up: the CIRCUS POKER SERIES.

The end of the year is coming in fast and the amazing amount of poker action that is been thrown at us, players and media keeps us all running. Sometimes in circles… :-)

I have chosen Belgium as my first poker stop of September 2023. Namur is back on the European poker map this week with the Circus Namur French Poker Open.

To recover from an intense Las Vegas trip in June and July, I had planned a quiet August ... nothing came of it - unless attending three major mid-stake poker events in two cities more than 1000 km apart counts as a quiet month in any world :-)
I used to spend a lot of time at the Namur Casino. As a matter of fact, between 2012 and 2018, I was the house photographer of the run-down poker room dating back to the 80s. Plenty of pics from that time are still online in the photo archive. With no legal live poker option in Luxembourg where I was based until 2012, Namur and Belgium in general became the spot where my poker photography started to reach more people and, eventually, poker brands. It is also the place that kick-started my career as a live poker player.   After a long stay in Las Vegas this summer, I came to cool down in Belgium :-) and I spent early August in Namur to cover mostly the WaSOP Main Event beside the end of the High Roller, the PKO, the Mystery Bounty, the Closer, and the Sunday Special.

After a big chunk of the summer spent in Vegas, I'll bee off to Namur, Belgium in early August in order to attend and document the finals of the WaSOP poker festival running from 26th July to 6th August.
Summer comes with two major Poker events in Belgium this year: the HAVANA week and the classic WaSOP festival of early August. I will miss the first one but chances are I will make my way to Namur in early August. Stay tuned for more details below in the thread and in the Namur section of this blog.
