October was packed with plenty of live poker events all over the place. In Las Vegas, where I am spending the beginning of the colder season, the Wynn Autumn Classic festival is coming to an end as the next major event is about to start on the Strip.
The Main Event totalled way more than 1500 entries for another massive live poker tournament experience in the heart of Belgium. I fired a bullet at the PLO5 event and made it to level 12 in the Main Event without a showdown. The first showdown was the last, so I'm back to playing the good old Namur cash games and shooting some souvenir photos ;-)   No matter which time of the year, the Namur Casino Resort poker room is either looking back to busy days or looking ahead to highlights to come. The Holiday Festival and a packed WaSOP edition were the main driving poker forces throughout the Belgian summer and more festivals are coming for autumn and winter until the end of the year. So far, the strongest poker room in Belgium has delivered seven major poker festivals in 2024. Three more are to come until Christmas.  Alexandre Meira is flooring and directing many tournament throughout each Belgian poker year and he is also the mind behind one of Belgium's latest local live poker series. The town of Spa was famous for its natural mineral springs. This gave rise to travellers seeking the healing-waters of Spa from as far back as the 14th Century and the Casino de Spa opened in 1763. But too much healing is boring :-) So, at some point, they decided to throw in a bit of SO SICK in the mix and it was one of the very first establishments to start the trend of combining a spa and casino experience. Mayors Xhrouet Lambert and Gerard de Leau are credited with commissioning the building. It was designed by Barthélémy Digneffe and decorated to look like a palace. The Sharky's Poker Feast is back with a second edition during November 2024 in the beautiful forests of Spa, home to the oldest functioning casino in the world.

I'm in Belgium since late March for the latest Namur poker festival and we have reached the money ranks in the Main Events. My days are filled with work on ongoing projects during the day, funky PLO cash games at night, and some poker photography in between.  Since last year, Vegetalicia provide healthy and fresh snacking and dining solutions during the poker festivals at the Namur Casino Resort. Danny is back to serve you every day during the Namur Classics.

Alex Meira, the well known French/Portuguese floor and tournament director, who is very active in Belgium, goes by 'Sharky' for those who did not know. He is the master shark brain behind this project and has decided to team up with the historic Casino de Spa for this launch event.
The feast will take place from 30th April to 5th May 2024.

Historically, the Namur Winter Festival has always been one of the highlights of the poker year. It has been one of the first events of the room to feature a main event with more than 1k entries and it has reached more than 2.5k entries in 2023.
The Winter Festival is the first major poker gathering in Namur for 2024. 
Another 10 days of packed poker action are coming up in Namur during late March and early April.  Along some innovations in the Namur poker schedule of 2024, the poker room has taken good care of some of its classics like the yearly Carnival Festival from 25th February to the 3rd March. After an intense year of successful poker festivals in the renovated poker room of Namur, the poker staff of the Circus Resort showed up with a huge event to crown the year 2023.

Namur is my last stop in Europe before concluding 2023 in Las Vegas from December to January. In the meanwhile, I am shooting every day in Namur for the Circus Resort and PokerFirma.com.
