When I visited Bogota, I spotted a colourful neighbourhood from my high-up hotel balcony while shooting the sunrise over the Andes. Turns out the zone has an interesting story. The streets are narrow and mostly cobbled and the architecture seems pretty dull from afar. I was told it could be a little risky to wander there alone especially with cameras since the area is rather poor and rough so I skipped it but after doing some reading about it, I'm already regretting this decision :-) I'll make sure I'll find a local who would know his ways well enough to take me with him for a tour when I'll return to Bogota.
The reason why it's so colourful today is a large-scale street art project lead by a graffiti collective called INK CREW that, together with locals, started repainting hundreds of houses of Barrio Los Puentes a few years ago in order to unite the local community around a common rehabilitation project in their home streets and to make the area simply look nicer as a start.

The Circuito Nacional de Poker - CNP / Circuito Latino de Poker in Bogota is predominantly a tournament festival but of course, there are also cash games running.
My latest Bogota pics are online in the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section and I've posted some new impressions on PokerFirma.
I've posted an article with first impressions of Bogota and about the upcoming CNP Gran Final in Madrid. Head to PokerFirma.
You can read an English version of the post below! I remember this plane being described as the aircraft of the future during its developing phase when I was following it as a kid. Well, the future has arrived in 2009. It's big and it's beautiful.
October is going to be a busy one at casa (with no casa) The-Rounder.net!
Check out the POKER TRIPS section if you care to join somewhere. There's plenty of info online featuring new BEAT THE RAKE promos and hotel package offers. With less than two weeks to go before the start of the CNP Bogota leg, the local preparations have begun.
This first stop in Bogota is only the tip of the iceberg. As a matter of fact, the CNP team have announced plans put together a Latin American live Poker tour: the Circuito Latino de Poker. The Wyndham Hotel Bogota is about to host the first CNP event in Colombia launching the Circuito Latino de Poker project and offering great opportunities to travel and play cards on the other side of the planet.
As mister #allineverywhere , I like this a lot :-) Find out about plenty of details on this short and rather visual post. Info and booking is available via the POKER TRIPS section here and you can still take advantage of the promotion to play the Main Event rake-free with THE-ROUNDER. Colombia for sure is bit off my standard travel circuit so I made a bit of research in order to prepare my trip. In this post, you'll find useful links and info about how to embark with us for the upcoming CNP Bogota.
Only about a month separates us from the start of the first CNP Festival in Colombia.
Everything seems ready to welcome delegations from all over the world with this expansion of the 10th season of the (actually) Spanish Poker Tour. The support of the community will be crucial to turn this somewhat crazy idea of Jaime Sanchez's team into a success story.
Two more stops are scheduled for the end of the 10th year of the Spanish CNP agenda: Alicante in early September (see tweet below) and the Grand Final in Madrid in November. What's more, there will be another stop in Bogota in October.
Check out the POKER TRIPS section for details.
CNP is putting on a Poker show in Bogota, Colombia in October. I'm not expecting to move many people for this one but in case of interest, here's all you need to know.
Love Poker? Enjoy traveling? Circuito Nacional de Poker invited me to join them for the CNP Bogota in Colombia next October. I'm trying to make room in my agenda in order to make this happen and I've put together this promo for you. I'm paying the rake of your CNP Bogota Main Event! I'll do so for the first 5 people who book a pack through me for this trip. Don't spew if you're on a tight budget - I'm only paying the rake for the first bullet :-) On top of it, I'll throw in some nice souvenir pics of you doing the Colombian re-raise at the tables for your bad beat stories on social media. So bring your fanciest shirt and grow your coolest moustache. You can get in touch or just stay tuned under the following social media links: Facebook - Instagram - Twitter

The Laroush Poker event promoter is making international jumps and has announced a CNP stop in Bogota this October. I don't know - it sounds ... exciting :-) |
