A pitstop in Luxembourg is almost never about good weather and awesome light but that does not stop photographers from getting out there and trying to capture shots. My colleague, friend and fellow photography lover, Alex Rotenberg came to visit the tiny Grand-Duchy this week and he is leaving aerial photo impressions of his autumn stay behind.
Resorts World Las Vegas stands on storied ground with a deep-rooted history on the Las Vegas Strip. Located on the site of the former Stardust Resort and Casino, the epicenter of glamour and gaming during Vegas’s early rise to fame in the 1950s and ‘60s, the property got famous for its outer-space-themed signage and allure, entertaining guests from all over the world from 1958 until 2006 when it was demolished, leaving this valuable Strip location vacant and awaiting a new legacy for a few years. The bitter 2008 pill had to be swallowed first.

October was packed with plenty of live poker events all over the place. In Las Vegas, where I am spending the beginning of the colder season, the Wynn Autumn Classic festival is coming to an end as the next major event is about to start on the Strip.
The VPT 2024 is looking back at a great season with stops all over Europe. The conclusion of the season will be celebrated in Portugal with a Vamos Poker Tour stop in Estoril and a 500k Eur guarantee. VPT Estoril will take place from 22nd November to 2nd December 2024.  No matter which time of the year, the Namur Casino Resort poker room is either looking back to busy days or looking ahead to highlights to come. The Holiday Festival and a packed WaSOP edition were the main driving poker forces throughout the Belgian summer and more festivals are coming for autumn and winter until the end of the year. So far, the strongest poker room in Belgium has delivered seven major poker festivals in 2024. Three more are to come until Christmas.  Alexandre Meira is flooring and directing many tournament throughout each Belgian poker year and he is also the mind behind one of Belgium's latest local live poker series. The town of Spa was famous for its natural mineral springs. This gave rise to travellers seeking the healing-waters of Spa from as far back as the 14th Century and the Casino de Spa opened in 1763. But too much healing is boring :-) So, at some point, they decided to throw in a bit of SO SICK in the mix and it was one of the very first establishments to start the trend of combining a spa and casino experience. Mayors Xhrouet Lambert and Gerard de Leau are credited with commissioning the building. It was designed by Barthélémy Digneffe and decorated to look like a palace. The Sharky's Poker Feast is back with a second edition during November 2024 in the beautiful forests of Spa, home to the oldest functioning casino in the world.

I am not planning to go to the Malta Poker Festival. Already too many things are going on during October for me to implement this stop on my travel route but I am glad to point out two partner highlights happening during this festival.   
For more than a decade now, the Circuido Nacional de Poker has been a major actor of the Spanish live poker scene and they are entering their 12th season this year.
The 2024 circuit comes with five stops in some of the best poker rooms in Spain and offers opportunities to visit some of the most amazingly beautiful cities in the South of Europe. 
The Festival Series 2024 adventure will end where the last two seasons ended: at Bratislava's Banco Casino.
