The QPS have voluntarily decided to stay behind the main frontline of the poker promoter wars of the Iberian peninsula. First of all, the series describes itself as a low-buy-in option with entry prices of around 200 Eur for the main events and about 400 Eur for the high roller tournaments of the series. It doesn't get friendlier than that in today's poker world.

For more than a decade now, the Circuido Nacional de Poker has been a major actor of the Spanish live poker scene and they are entering their 12th season this year.
The 2024 circuit comes with five stops in some of the best poker rooms in Spain and offers opportunities to visit some of the most amazingly beautiful cities in the South of Europe.
The Queen Poker Series moves on in Spain after a recent stop in Troia, Portugal.
Pics of my early March stop in Troia can be found online in my photo archive.
Every year, the Admiral Casino in Seville kicks off the new year with the grand final event of the previous year. It's a great way to kick off the year with a bang. Conchi is one of the major poker promoters in Andalusia, collaborates with the other existing Spanish poker circuits, and her latest own project is called Queen Poker Series with a 100k guarantee put in place for January.
Another contribution on the go for PokerFirma.com and I have added an English text version below. Photos and info links can be found in the German article.
Sevilla is the spot where I got stuck when the pandemic hit Europe. It's actually one of the cities I love after visiting more than half a dozen times in total but I somehow did not make it back since then. Maybe it's time to break the spell. The first leg of CNP Season 11 will be played in beautiful Seville between 6th and 12th March.
Among the existing Iberia Poker tours, SPF is the Spanish tour traveling to most places. No wonder I ended up becoming one of their live circuit ambassadors :-) Their yearly schedule features numerous events in all of Spain, in Portugal and they are running multiple stops in Rozvadov every year. I've posted an update in German with photos for the last stops of the year on PokerFirma. An English version is available below.

Beside the announcement of the CNP 2022 schedule, SPF, one of the other relevant Spanish Poker promoters, is also announcing its year plan.
The CNP 2021 Gran Final Madrid is coming up at the end of this month and their 2022 Poker tour in Spain is already looking great.
I must admit, I am pretty speechless about what is happening again in Europe in terms of complications when it comes to travel restrictions, curfews and lockdowns. After spending the last 2 months in the U.S. , I had almost forgotten what the European Covid circus was about. One spot on the old continent seems to be ok though: the weather is nice, restrictions don't seem to be too bad and Poker promoters are still holding on their plans for now. How about spending the winter weeks in Spain?
It has been almost a year now since the Al Andalus Poker Circuit Main Event in Seville. The Al Andalus Seville festival was the first of a dozen Poker festivals scheduled throughout Andalusia during 2020. The event was scheduled from 9th to 15th March 2020 if I am not mistaken but we never made it to Day 1C since the festival was interrupted after the end of Day 1B when the first countries of Europe were starting lockdowns. I bagged a decent stack for Day 2, a Day 2 that never came so far and the organiser has been quiet ever since.
There are still no updates about when we are going to be able to carry out the rest of the event. You will find a link to the photos I shot during my brief stay in the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section and I will post news if there is a way to pull this off during 2021.
Exactly two weeks have passed since I made my way from Spain to confine myself at some friends' place in Luxembourg and although I could not have dreamt of better conditions to stay in lockdown, I am growing anxious about the sad record I am about to set. It must have been 10 years since I last stayed in the same spot for 15 days or more...
Psychologically speaking it's really hard to stay confined when all you usually do is moving around. It's especially hard when you don't have a place of your own to be confined in while watching everything you had been working for over the last months and years is crumbling as you helplessly watch the days go by. We are for instance starting to give up on some of our cinema release projects switching to VOD release solutions with #sawahmovie in Belgium for instance. The financial loss will be huge: 5 ... maybe even 6 figures and hundreds of hours of work by dozens of people are just going down the drain. Not much news about the Luxembourg release of 'My grandpa is an alien' until now and I am still investing last energy bursts to try to keep the #chagosfilm dream alive. More news will follow via our production company Wady Media. Also, it does not look like we will get back to playing live Poker before autumn and international photo reporting also seems far away as travel restrictions will still last for weeks or months according to what I have learned from government and institution officials I know personally... Tough one to keep a traveller's blog active in these times so all I thought of doing for now was to update my photo section with recent shots of Portugal and Spain. I am not shooting much in Luxembourg these days as I am mainly focused on helping those I can (I helped producing Covid19 info videos for the population and I am assisting social workers in translating and spreading useful news to people in need). I am also seeking solutions for myself as I am not eligible for any government help so there are probably tough times coming up for me financially speaking with no home, no income and no more ongoing projects to lean on. Being stuck in one of the most expensive places in the world (a room in a shared flat costs up to €1.000/month over here) will probably consume what's left of my bankroll and reserves in a matter of months if I don't act quickly. Right now, the best I can do in order to soften the fall is getting back to grinding the online Poker tables as standard job search looks kinda hopeless. Enjoy some of my latest photos and stay as safe as you can out there. I'll be back in Sevilla soon. Goodbye Sevilla Poker Open - Welcome Al-Andalus Poker Circuit!
You'll find links to photo albums of my stops there during last December and January below. Enjoy!
