Resorts World Las Vegas stands on storied ground with a deep-rooted history on the Las Vegas Strip. Located on the site of the former Stardust Resort and Casino, the epicenter of glamour and gaming during Vegas’s early rise to fame in the 1950s and ‘60s, the property got famous for its outer-space-themed signage and allure, entertaining guests from all over the world from 1958 until 2006 when it was demolished, leaving this valuable Strip location vacant and awaiting a new legacy for a few years. The bitter 2008 pill had to be swallowed first.

Enjoy this weekly curated TLDR overview of poker web content. The-Rounder.net has been going through a few evolutions since the pandemic. One of them is that the website and the community around it are growing and the whole thing is not managed as a one-monkey show anymore. The team is supposed to reach a count of 5-6 people by early 2025. Visit the CONTACT & INFO section for details about our activities.
Portugal-based Alexandre Rotenberg has never been very far from the happenings around The-Rounder.net over the last years, so he was a natural addition to the core of the project over time. We have just used some of his South Africa shots in an article about the Cape Town Million 2024 featuring the Hendonmob Championship in collaboration with Sunbet Poker Tour and there is a lot more coming. Another addition to the team has organically been growing as a trusted community member from Las Vegas since 2023. Michelle Richey offers assistance to traveling players looking for a temporary or permanent place to stay in Las Vegas and will add content to website by sharing experiences and helping with the POKER TRIPS section. Welcome, Michelle!
October was packed with plenty of live poker events all over the place. In Las Vegas, where I am spending the beginning of the colder season, the Wynn Autumn Classic festival is coming to an end as the next major event is about to start on the Strip.
The Main Event totalled way more than 1500 entries for another massive live poker tournament experience in the heart of Belgium.
I fired a bullet at the PLO5 event and made it to level 12 in the Main Event without a showdown. The first showdown was the last, so I'm back to playing the good old Namur cash games and shooting some souvenir photos ;-) No matter which time of the year, the Namur Casino Resort poker room is either looking back to busy days or looking ahead to highlights to come. The Holiday Festival and a packed WaSOP edition were the main driving poker forces throughout the Belgian summer and more festivals are coming for autumn and winter until the end of the year. So far, the strongest poker room in Belgium has delivered seven major poker festivals in 2024. Three more are to come until Christmas.
The late September and early October CNP Estoril is a great gathering for the Portuguese poker community and souvenir photos are online in one of our drives under the link below.
The official Portuguese coverage is provided by the PokerPT colleagues and we are publishing updates in German on PokerFirma.com as well as photo albums on the Facebook page.
In our recent forecast of the upcoming CNP events for late 2024, we pointed out an upcoming stop in Estoril.
In late October and early November, during the Malta Poker Festival, the Portomaso Casino in St. Julian's will host juicy high-stakes cash games in NLH and PLO formats. Interested players can directly get in touch at [email protected].
I am not planning to go to the Malta Poker Festival. Already too many things are going on during October for me to implement this stop on my travel route but I am glad to point out two partner highlights happening during this festival.
The 2024 Malta Vamos Poker Tour stop is in the books after almost a week of poker action at Portomaso casino in St. Julian's. The best way to stay tuned is through their social media account fed by one of the most creative media teams I am lucky to working with. Enjoy Bogdan's and Mike's creative output via these links:
