There are some World Cup champions though in Belgium :D View the WORLD CUP FESTIVAL Hall of Fame via the embeded Instagram posts below and find out about the complete schedule of the WaSOP coming up next week. Ok, ok ... the title is not the greatest :p But wait, Belgium is a great place to spend the summer months ... when it does not rain. You just have to enjoy those summer minutes you get from time to time to the fullest extend. And the Belgians compensate with the warmth and sunshine from their heart. No? Still not convinced?
Poker! There's Poker. There will be a lot of Poker these weeks in the Wallonian capital! €3.600 in guaranteed prizes for the European Poker Series Spa at casa Poker Belgique this Wednesday16/7/2018 Poker Belgique is hosting a SUPER Satellite for an EPS SPA package at the Grand Casino de Namur this Wednesday, 18th July from 7pm.
6 packages of 600€ will be guaranteed no matter what.
It's chill time! Greetings from Portugal where I'm off for two weeks enjoying the heat, playing cards and meeting friends. My brother is coming over with a buddy later this month to spice it all up with some Golf and Surf sessions. Life is beautiful. Repeat three times every morning ;)
Below, you will find a bunch of info about what is going on these weeks at Casino Estoril Poker room followed by a detailed preview of my almost 100% Belgian August 2018: WaSOP Namur, European Poker Series Spa & Holiday Festival Namur with a few days of Portugal in between if I can make it. My Flickr photo archive is up to date with my latest albums of the Namur World Cup Festival and of the Spanish Poker Festival at King's Casino Rozvadov last week. Enjoy!
I have survived another week at King's Casino Rozvadov where I was attending the SPF Summer 2018. After one bullet in Cup, two bullets in the Main Event and a couple of cash game sessions, I am more or less satisfied with booing an even week mainly due to my 36th/688 place finish in the Main Event. The glory will be for later ... :) At least, I made it deeper in the payout structure than Jordan 'Never Lucky' Verbraeken which is already an achievement as such :p
Again, I did not manage to #punishthespanish like they deserve it but Portuguese buddies have been running good with Paulinho finishing second of the Ultra KO and Pestana shipping the Saturday 20k tournament last night. Vamos!! Cash Game Weekend Batumi has been announced recently just after our stop in Riga a few weeks ago.
You can find all CGW Riga pictures in a summary post with almost 350 shots in this link and we are now happy to promote our next festival. This time, we are back to the shores of the Black Sea in Georgia's Batumi with a festival from 25th to 30th of July. Cash players get their room for free as usual and the standard games will range from $5/5 to $10/20 in NLH or PLO formats. Higher blinds are always available on request. For info and booking, you can use the www.cashgametour.com website.
There is some #pokernamur in the air for this week with the World Cup Festival starting tonight at the Namur Casino.
I will be making my way to Belgium this afternoon and I will stay on the spot to report about the events of the week featuring the return of www.pokernamurevent.be to get all the updates about the festival. Find out about more upcoming Poker trips in my last post in this blog. After a week in Riga in between days of Portuguese bliss, I will soon be off on a small tour again. Photos of my last Portugal stays and of the Riga Cash Game Weekend are available in the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section or in my Flickr archive.
Next stop: the #pokernamur World Cup Festival ! Back in Belgium next week for another edition of the monthly Namur Poker rendez-vous. Information can be found under www.circuspoker.be but it looks like I will be publishing my coverage again on www.pokernamurevent.be from this festival on. More news soon ... #pokernamur on Facebook HERE.
After a more than pleasant stay in Latvia last week during the 6-day Cash Game Weekend in Riga (6-11 June), Cash Game Tour & Poker Trest have announced their next stop for July. Off to Georgia, to the shores of the Black Sea in Batumi!
For those who care, almost 350 photos of our city trip to Riga are online HERE. In the beginning of July, I will make a comeback in Rozvadov. As a matter of fact, I stopped working for King's in the end of 2017 and this was also the last time I went to Czech Republic to play the GPT Christmas edition. In July, I am going back for the traditional #punishthespanish beating :p If anyone wants to join, vamos! I will shooting pictures in Namur, Belgium for the #pokernamur World Cup Festival that will see its Main Event finish in the night 1st/2nd July and will probably be off to cross Europe during the same night. We'll sleep when we're dead. The 3* rooms are already sold out as far as I know but there are still plenty of accommodation options available. For those who fly in through Nurnberg, SPF has set up a free shuttle service to King's at specific times. Check their offer HERE.
All you need to know about SPF is online HERE. In case you are not convinced, maybe my set of 150 pictures from last year's edition can help :p While my Instagram for sure begins to have a smell of grilled sardines and vegetables, it's time to leave Portugal for a bit of back and forward between Luxembourg, Namur, Cascais, Riga, Rozvadov and Spa over the next weeks.
#allineverywhere
Forget sea, sex & sun! We have Meuse, Poker & sun (maybe) in Namur!
The Poker festivals in Namur are again pretty popular this year with massive low buy-in fields generated in the early year, a great Namur Classic's and, again, more than 600 entries in the Spring Festival's Main Event in late April/early May.
During this May, the Poker action will not slow down with the return of the APAT.be with a Namur leg I will not attend. Their media team will take good care of the coverage of the event under www.apat.be and I will be back in Wallonia for the Sun Festival from 22nd to 27th of May.
What is more, I will also be back for the World Cup Festival and you will most probably see me around in late July/early August for the WaSOP ... Located roughly 20km from Monastir, the Casino Europe in Sousse is offering great deals for some Poker grinding under the Mediterranean sun.
This new Poker destination in Tunisia provides you with a 5-star luxury accommodation from 5 hours of cash game per day. Access will also be granted to the hammam, gym and swimming pool. What is more, you can cumulate your playing hours so don't have to commit to playing the full 5 hours every single day.
Less than a month to go before the return of the Spanish Poker Festival to Rozvadov with a Winter Edition from 28th January to 4th February but there is also a lot of action already announced in Spain by various Poker promoters.
CNP & LPS have announced most of their 2018 stops already with tournaments all over Iberia and GPS will also be back with Silver Poker Series in January and February before a Golden Poker Series stop at Casino Gran Madrid in March. The promoters of the SPF at King's will also be active on home soil with a bunch of events scheduled for the beginning of the New Year like the Spanish Winter Series in Castellon until 7th January, the Levante Poker Challenge also taking place at Casino Gran Madrid in mid-January before the SPF at King's. Soon after, another event will take place at Casino de Mallorca and another Levante Poker Challenge stop is planned from 23rd to 25th February at the Gran Casino Extremadura. Let's get our credit cards ready to book flights and accommodation :p I have skipped the WSOP in the middle of the desert this year and I am thinking of flying back to Sicko-City this year to shoot photos, grind the cash games and ... why not ... fire a few bullets at bracelet events. After the recent leaking of most of the upcoming 2018 schedule, the 49th annual World Series of Poker® (WSOP®) – the richest, most prestigious and longest-running poker series – unveils its official event schedule for the 2018 summer iteration at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, with a tournament festival consisting of a comprehensive slate of the game’s most popular poker variations running from May 29 through July 17. To view the entire 78-event gold bracelet tournament schedule, please visit: WSOP 2018 Schedule (download PDF below) where all events are visible, and a downloadable version is provided. The annual poker extravaganza, which dates back to 1970, will be televised exclusively on ESPN networks and live streamed on PokerGO. The full television and live streaming schedules will be announced at a later date. ![]()
I am still thinking of dates and of photo/video projects ideas so, to give me some inspiration and motivation, I started looking back at some photos I shot during my 3-month trip in 2016 and I am happy to share some of these with you again today.
