Personally, I have chosen to spend most of my early autumn weeks in Las Vegas. The scorching summer heat is gone by October but it’s usually warm enough to enjoy some pool time with temperatures at around 30-35°C (86-95°F)during the day and about 20°C (68°F) at night. October gets a bit windy at times but it is usually not getting properly cold. Nights are getting very chilly later during winter months though. In December or January, one might need to pack a vest when heading out to the poker room. The AC is not the enemy at this period of the year but, depending on when the cash game session is over, the temperature on the Strip might have dropped to 0°C (32°F). Just like bankrolls, temperatures also swing a lot in the Nevada desert.
Regular LV updates will be posted in THE-ROUNDER.net blog and there will plenty of photos to enjoy too. The rest of my Vegas plan will consist of a mix of PLO cash games and of arts, food and lifestyle ventures around the city. The Wynn Fall Classic might be worth a visit between October 2nd and 29th and we are also in the process of preparing another trip to Las Vegas in December for the massive WPT event and summer 2024 is practically around the corner in terms of booking preparations. Once more, we are planning to rent one or two villas and probably a bunch of hotel rooms for and with players from all over the globe and such logistics need some preparation.
Regarding poker in Europe, on top of the extensive offer of poker festivals in and around the D-A-CH regions via www.pokerturninere.live, there is a focus on a few events that offer nice value deals to those who don’t mind a bit of traveling. The suggested destinations range from Namur (Belgium) to Bratislava (Slovakia) over Troia (Portugal). Details and useful links are available in the POKER TRIPS section.
