I shot this one with my 120⬠phone. Pretty neat !
Say hello to the Orion Constellation featuring Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky of planet Earth !
I got lucky and caught a clear winter sky - yes, in Luxembourg :-)
Even with the urban light pollution, Orion's belt is always clearly visible. Rigel, the blue supergiant and the constellation's brightest star, or Betelgeuse, the dying red supergiant - my personal favourite, are also usually easy to catch. I did not expect to be able to shoot such a clear image of the nebula though. Again, it's a smartphone picture.
For those who care, I used a very elaborate bio-thermomecanical tripod (my old elbow on my old car) and I shot at ISO 1600, f/1.8 exposed for 1 sec with a little editing afterwards and there's no stacking or other photo sorcery going on here.

During the pandemic, I created a me-myself-and-I IG under @damian0nigr0 - not to share my bikini pics - but where I post of whatever catches my eye or tickles my mind while @theminusrounderdotnet focuses on my Poker & travel photography.
