The day off on my third day in Vegas was not a cheap excuse to postpone my desert hiking plans forever ;-)
My 4th day in Vegas was a very active one indeed! I left early in the morning and took of with a rental car to drive two hours into the desert.
I spent the day hiking in the Valley of Fire State Park shooting photography and drinking loads of water. I tried a hike similar to this one in the Red Rock Reserve during my stay in Vegas for the 2016 WSOP but attempting stuff like this during summer resembles suicide to be honest. I thought November would be a much better time to spend a day walking in the desert.
Enjoy the great landscapes and textures in my shots below!
Later that day, after returning to my room and resting a bit while sorting and editing photos, I made my way to the Resorts World Poker room. I had visited this brand new casino (June 2021) already for a drink at one of their cocktail bars but this time, I was back for some Poker action. All in all, it's a very busy place with 30+ tables featuring daily MTTs and cash games in all shapes and flavours. The player pool seemd a bit reggish but service is nice and venue is super pleasant. I'll be back!
