Aready 10 days in Vegas already. Time flies. Money also does :-) I've played 4 sessions of cash games so far and I won (pretty big) during 3 of them and booked 1 small loss. So far, so good. It's a good thing I am making money at the tables because life is insanely expensive over here and daily expenses end up piling up quickly; especially since I am rather active in order to produce photography and written content for Poker Firma during the whole duration of my trip - and being active costs in the U.S. . My main focus, of course, are the WSOP but I am showing a lot of para-Poker stuff and general Las Vegas content in my reports. Go check out my interventions in German in the PokerFirma NEWS section. With everything I am keeping up with, it is very difficult to keep up with the daily blog as I intended to do. I've been on gorgeous hikes shooting tons of photography and I try to show up at the Rio as often as possible. Following Koray Aldemir while he took down the Main Event, was very exciting since 'Ich bin ein Berliner' at the WSOP for the leading German Poker news portal this year :-) Traveling around, planning, scouting, shooting and post processing all the photography takes up a lot of time so please accept my apologies for being late with daily updates. On Day 7, I spent my afternoon at the Rio shooting and decided to play ball at night. Not roulette though. We went for dinner at TopGolf with friends - great stuff! 2-3 hours later and a few cocktails deep, we took off to finish the night at the Bellagio Craps and Black Jack tables for a session of skill games. Day 8 was one of the most epic ones so far. While the Main Event was down to the final table, I took a gamble and decided not to show up at the Rio that day. Koray's stack was so huge and he was crushing his opponents so bad that I just knew he was going to make it to the final day and ship the whole thing :-p I called my client (Remember? That Geman Poker site :-) ) to tell them about my unorthodox Main Event coverage plans, they validated (#Ilovemyboss) and they got awesome photos of the Kelso Dunes in exchange :-D The Kelso Dunes cover roughly 100 square km and rise about 200m above the desert floor. What do you do with such an enormous pile of sand in the middle of nowhere? Climb it and take photos! I prepared an article about this hike in the Californian Mojave desert for PokerFirma. Before entering the Mojave desert, I also stopped at the 7 Magic Mountains art installation. I will share the links when all is online. In the meanwhile, there are a lot of pics online! Yesterday was my Day 9 in Vegas for this trip. Obviously, after fooling around with Poker tournament variance the day before, I played it tight for the last day of the Main Event and sticked around at the Rio for a while in order to get cool shots of our Weltmeister to be.
I ended up playing a short cash game session at The Venitian later and had dinner at Wynn's Mizumi. Wow! Lecker!! Today is Day 10 and it's kinda busy again at the Rio with a 1500+ filed in the $800 Deep Stack, Day 2 of the Hall of Fame Event, Day 2 of the 3k 6-max PLO aaaaand the random 250k Super High Roller... I'll try not to leave you without a post for another 4 days. In the meanwhile, enjoy the photos of these days below! All my archive is online in the PHOTOS & COVERAGES section.
